The Bonsai - a jewel of a speaker from the company that brought you the magnificent ATM-211 SET monoblocks comes a speaker that only the Japanese can do - miniture perfection. The MSM-1 has been a long time in gestation with much R&D spent in driver technology. This is decidedly not a speaker with OEM parts, clobbered together and slapped on with a manufacturer's badge. In their search for the ideal driver they realise that many existing materials use for the diaphragm do not meet their design goals. Thus, a wholly new cone driver was born, made out of hybrid material. Every aspect of this drive unit has been thoroughly thought out, conventions relooked, resulting in the application of a unique surround material and a lighter voice coil spider with anti-rolling suspension. Specs-wise, the MSM-1 sports a 10 cm full range driver with a sensitivity of 89 db and a frequency response of 70 hz to 20 khz. It sounds transparent and is a soundstaging champ with a full range tonal palette. Your search for a pair of high-end mini-size speakers could finally come to an end here.
